Message from the President

The British Psychological Society is both a learned and professional body and acts as the representative organisation for psychology in the UK.
We have a worldwide reputation for our work in advancing the science of psychology, communicating knowledge about psychology to the public and maintaining very high standards of training and practice for psychologists. I feel privileged to be part of such an influential and renowned body.
Psychologists increasingly contribute across a variety of domains, including business, sport, education and health and we are working with the UK Government to ensure the protection of the public by making it a legal requirement that practitioner psychologists are appropriately registered. You can find more information about
statutory regulation of psychologists elsewhere on this site.
Our membership matters a great deal to us, and we very much welcome new members from all areas of psychology. If you would like to join the Society please go to our
applications page.
